So I'm confused. The way that colleges see my sat/act scores is through my high school transcript, right? well I don't want one of my sat subject tests or my act to be visible. do I have to ask my school to do that? I don't really know how this works...thanks ahead of time!

whatever is sent on your transcript will be visible to colleges. If you school allows you to selectively remove scores from what they report on your transcript, that is the obvious solution. If not, maybe they will agree to remove all the scores and then you can use score choice through the collegeboard?

It is possible that colleges will see them through your transcript, but they won’t count as having been officially sent until you pay to have them sent officially through CollegeBoard or ACT.

It is a good idea to request a copy of your transcript from your high school before any are sent to colleges so you know exactly what the colleges will see and so you have a chance to correct any mistakes. My daughter’s school prepares copies of transcripts for each senior on college planning night (which happens to be tonight), but from what I’ve read, not all schools do so.

actually you should check with each school to see whether you have to pay the extra $ to send ‘official’ scores. To save you some money, many schools are now accepting the scores that appear on your transcript.
