How to properly use Additional Information Section?

In the Princeton Common App, there’s a section for “additional information.” I’m a bit confused on how to properly utilise the section. Could I attach my resume for music school (ex. with info on private teachers, musical achievements, leadership, competitions, repertoire, etc.)?
Also, I had a severe drop in my grades sophomore year due to my depression-- but this was undiagnosed. Would it still be okay to include an explanation about this?

  1. As many people suggested in your prior post it would be best if your guidance counselor addressed your sophomore year issues. That way it would come off as verified by an independent party rather than an applicant making an excuse. Please refer back to that thread. http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/princeton-university/2105324-chance-me-low-gpa-but-good-ec.html#latest
  2. Wouldn’t you have musical achievements listed under the activity/awards sections?
  3. There is no need to put anything in the additional information section. Many applicants do not.
  4. You should consider sending an arts supplement if your musical talent is of such a high level.

Hello Happy, thank you for the information! My guidance counselor is addressing my sophomore year, but I wanted to elaborate a bit more on it. She recommended it herself to put it in the additional information section.
My musical achievements do not fit in the activity/awards sections. There’s a word limit and I can’t input all my competitions/summer camps/performances in the activities section.
Yes, I am submitting an arts supplement. Most of my ECs are music-related, and my additional letters are written by my private teacher and orchestra director. I think inserting my resume would be important to my application because of this. I’m just not sure how to format it.

The college doesn’t need you to elaborate on a problem year. They want to see a pattern of strengths (academic and personal) that fit their needs and wants. They want to see you understand what P offers and how, explain the Why Us.

They don’t need to know every competition, camp, or performance. You can list all these in the arts supp or Addl Info…but you are statng a stem interest and they will look hard at your stem record, including activities.
