Do I need an operating system like Mirage OS, which is required for ti-83 & 84 families?

nope, just google it. beer run is classic.

^^however, if you're having problems with your calculator in class, this game will not impress your teacher.

^ lol 10 char

Actually there a few programs in which you can hit a button, and the screen will switch out to a random calculation. :)
To get many programs, go to ticalc.org and go to archives. The Ti-89 is a great calculator in that it can store many programs and calculation speed is high.
Secondly, there are many games which you can just download, and they will go directly into your memory or archived memory. MirageOS saves a ton of memory in that for 16384 bytes, you can stores programs in it of much larger size and no space is taken up. You must first download MirageOS, then download specific games that are made of it ( there are many ). Yo u may also want to to get some math programs, a few include 50 + topics of most used math. You can even search by category to find your specific subject. Ti-89 offers rich grayscale graphics, so some games may rival the graphics of the Nintendo GameBoy.

I dont believe , though, that there is MirageOS for Ti-89 ;) There are a few other operating systems though, that may help in a similar way. Just go to ticalc.org and see.

To do all that , however, you first need a Link Cable which you plug into your USB port. Then, you must get TiConnect software.

:p

oh that's awesome. I didn't think know how to put games on my ti89 either because it's not compatible with the other models so i couldn't leech off my friends.

I can't find mirage OS for ti-89, it says it's for 83 or 84. or is it sill compatible with 89 T

Sorry, MirageOS is not for ti-89.
I believe the premiere program for the Titanium is DoorsOS or something of that sort. Search around in ticalc.org archives; its a major application for the 89.

Once I downloaded it now and dragging it into the ti explorer what do i do.

When i used the os from ticalc.org it said file corrupt when i try to transfer. any links you can give me?

Here, try this:http://doors.ticalc.org/news.htm
For, obviously, DoorsOS.

Drag the unzipped .89z file into your folder labeled main.
Now, after its finished transferring, stay on Ti-Connect and search through the main folder to find Doors or a name, something similar of the sort. This is the name that must be typed into the home screen of your Ti-89.
First, go to home, enable alpha-lock and type in the specified name, followed by open-parantheses, closed parantheses, without spaces. Then, the program will automatically launch, or you may have to select from a menu, depending on the program.
To get a list of program, you must 2nd the minus, and you can toggle through and find each specific file and amount of memory taken up.
Hope that helps :p

Thanks. I'll try it out. Ti-89T is so complicated compared to ti-84 plus.

Also can ti-89 solve equations? or system of equations?

So I just dragged it into the folder. I can't find the program on my apps. Where do I go?

Also... I don't know why but when sometimes when I go to graph it doesn't have any graph lines shown. it's just a blank screen. The only way I know how to fix it is resetting to defaults. This also happens on my Ti-84 plus

2nd VAR-LINK (-), will take you to your list of programs.
Look through the folder and find your file, and get the specific name. Type that name followed by () in your home screen, and the application should start up.

Yes, to solve systems of equations, go to SMG in your main applications.
You can pick out each specific type of equation and how you want to solve it. Once you have the equation typed in, press enter. It should take you to a new screen with the equation. Press enter, and it will simplify. Or, you can fiddle around with it by going to F4 and performing the specified operation.

By the way, I got my Ti-89T yesterday :p

well it says protected memory violation. when i typed in "doorsos()" Do you have instant messager? aim, yahoo, msn?

Yes, tell me yours and I'll try to IM you sometime.

AIM- gogopen13190
