How to qualify for in-state-tuition

Hello. I have lived in New York for my entire life. However I would like to go to U of Pittsbourgh. I was wondering if it was possible for me to qualify for in-state-tuition in Pennsylvania, if I have close family living in Pa. Could I say that I lived with them, or say that they are my guardians.

thanks for responses!

Your parents would have to move and live in PA at least one year before you start college. Living with relatives and having them as your guardians, would not get you in-state tuition (as a dependent student, you are a resident where your parents live).

OP, you seem to have no problem with lying. But it will not work. You need to take a course on Ethics.

Tom I have no clue what you are talking about? I was just trying to find out if something like that could happen. As sybbie stated, its not possible.

//thread

Hahahahh. Claiming ur relatives as guardians is like a dagger to ur parents. I wanna know how adcoms will even be half convinced of that.
