How to raise low ACT math score and how to finish on time

This will be my first time taking the ACT I have been practicing and well I have problems with pacing in all of the section I score really really low on the ACT math practice how can I at least do better on the ACT math while practicing I try to understand why I failed it but I noticed that I’m not that good in word problems and geometry is also complex for me not being a math fan how can I at least begin to get a better score on the ACT like how do I practice effectively

You could try going through and answering all the questions you know you can get fairly quickly. Then go back and try to do the ones that will take more time. That way you don’t spend a bunch of time on one early on and then run out of time for doing questions that you could have easily answered correctly.

Otherwise if you have a practice test book that explains the problems just go over all the ones you miss to try to understand them.

yeah i do that it turns out that i dont know more of math because of when i do that like i know 8 of the questions so i really struggle and i guess thats why i waste time

After pinpointing your mistakes/weaknesses (word problems and geometry as you’ve stated) go through the answer explanations and see if you understand them. If so, search similar problems and see if you truly know how to do them. If not, try looking Khan Academy videos. They have a lot of tutorial/learning math videos.

Learn all the content first. Then try and get the first 45ish questions correct. It depends on what score you’re aiming for, but 45 right is automatically a 28ish on the ACT math. Guess on the last 15 and with lucky guess you might be able to get a couple more correct.

For math, your best bet is to do a lot of practice problems; after a while, things should come much faster.
