How to read long passages?

hi...while on the critical reading section...How does one( 650 or higher) read long passages?....Do you read the passage first and answer the questions or go directy to the answers and look for the answer in the passage?

thanks

I read the passage, underlining key info or things that i think the SATers might be likely to make a question about. When I get to the end of each paragraph or couple paragraphs, I glance over to the Qs and see if there are any that reference a specific line I've just read (not looking at any "big" questions yet, just things like "what does [word] on line [x] mean in this context?"). Then by the time I've read the whole thing, I can easily answer the "big" questions about the author's purpose or anything, and I've also picked out the key info so I can glance back for a quick summary/outline if I need it.
