How to self report sat scores

It looks like Stanford has recently changed their scoring policy to state that official score reports are not necessary and self reporting is fine.

From their website: “Official score reports are not required unless the student is admitted and chooses to enroll. You are able to self-report your scores in the testing section of either the Coalition Application or the Common Application. All scores from all high school sittings of either exam (or both if you took both) are required. If you have taken the test more than once, you may use the Additional Information section in the application to report additional scores or send your student score report(s) as an email attachment to credentials@stanford.edu.”

Since all the scores are necessary and Common App Testing is a superscoring format do I just send a score report to the email address above? And include my name, DOB, and CAID?

Not completely sure on the requirements.

I would type them up in a document and attach it to the email. However, you can just put the scores in the Additional Information sections of your application, which is easier to do.

This helps cut down on our costs by about $40 (2 ACT reports and a SAT 2 report). Is there any disadvantage to self-reporting? Is it like the “recommended subject tests” where it’s more like required if you can afford it?

The only downside is that if you self report and are admitted and choose to attend the official report had better match the self reported scores or your acceptance will be rescinded.

@TomSrOfBoston I’m not worried about them matching. I’m worried about whether or not there’s an implied “send official” for those who can afford it. If there’s not, then we will happily self report. Accurately.
