If I happen to better on this September tests than my last ACT, I understand that I can choose which one colleges see. But how should I self-report them on college apps if I only want them to see one? For instance on common app, it has blanks for all the ACTs taken, if I fill in both test dates will colleges only see the best one or both?

What you put on the application has no impact on what scores the college receives. You have to order the reports from ACT. I can't imagine any reason to put a test date on the application if you aren't going to send the scores.

So if you just put one test date on the app and send in that score, that's ok? They won't get mad about omission?

No, colleges don't expect you to report all your test scores. They also won't know (though some high schools put all your scores on your transcript if you put down your high school code when you register or send a report, so watch out for that).

k thanks mrs. ferguson

do u have to put down your high school code when you register for the ACT exams liek u do for the SATs or is it just optional?? and if it is optional, then will you be the only one receiving the scores and noone else??

Far as I can tell, it's optional for both tests, and yes, if you don't put down your high school code or any college codes, you are the only one who will receive your scores. You can report to both high school and colleges later, for a fee.

and if i put my school code, the school will send all of the scores, without me paying a fee??

for the SAT, won't college board send the scores anyway to the colleges i apply 2?/

and for the SAT, do they pick your best sections from all the tests u take?, like if u got a 600 on math and 700 on reading on one test, and on another 1 u get a 700 on math and a 650 on reading, they'll take that 700 and 700, right?
