hi,
Yes, I've heard countless times that Smartypants is the way to go. but then I've also heard that it's a bit too concise and should be supplemented. To those who have already taken the exam and 5'd it, what would you say to this? It's supposed to be one of the easier exams, so hopefully I'm freaking out about nothing.

oh, and i am taking it this year but haven't studied a single page yet. would appreciate any help.

thanks,
joe

from stats at my school, this is a really easy exam to pass
36/52 ppl who took it got a 3+

i believe 6 received a 5

I appreciate the response, but i'm pretty sure those kids took the class. Would you happen to know what they studied from , ie book?

bump..............

Contrary to popular belief, environmental science is a pretty tough subject (at least in my school where everyone gets a 5). I suggest you first read the REA than go onto Smartypants. REA is pretty thick and has all the necessary info..

theres a lot of memorizing

I self-studied for a night and a half with Smartypants and Barrons. It seemed to work well, since I pulled a 5, though some of the MC made me wonder about life...

konriu, did u hav a lot of past experience on such science?

is barrons any good?
and r the questions close to the ones on the actual exam?

konriu,

My D will have only one night to start and finish study for this. She can read only one, which one would you recommend? She is also taking the AP Bio on Monday, so she thinks there is some overlap in ecology/populations etc.

She will be ecstatic if she can pull a 4. We have the PR book.

Thanks

Just study and stop worrying about which book to buy. Since you have PR, read it thoroughly.

Use common sense. The test is extremely easy.. all you need to know are the treaties and some of the natural processes (nitrogen, carbon, hydrolic cycles)
Oh, and for the essays... basically:
1. recyling is good
2. pollution/greenhouse gases are bad
3. alternative energy is good
4. know water treatment cycle

You'll get a 4 at least.. pretty sure 90% of those in our school got a 4/5
