How to Self-Study APs

Can anyone give me how to guide to self study? Like how does it work and where do you take the exams? And Which are the easiest to someone just trying to do it?

I also want to know if you have to tell the guidance counselor if you want to self study or just study then sign up? I don’t want to go throughout the huge previously posted thread.

Don’t mind me. Just bumping this topic.

Well, it is a good idea to tell your counselor as soon as you decide. If you tell them early enough, they will register you for the test on time (you have to register by March-ish). if they register you, then u can take the test at your own high school, and not at some other creepy school. and it’s always a good idea to have the guidance counselor on your side, because they give/send recommendations to colleges.
One time I had a friend who didnt get to go to NYU because her counselor didnt like her and didn’t send ANY recommendations for her. My friend also did not apply to any other colleges. So she had to go to community college for a year and then transfer to NYU. Just thought I’d throw that out there, although few people only apply to ONE college :P

Wow that must have sucked for your friend. :frowning: but thanks for the advice!

Eh, well it wasnt actually my friend lol. she just went to my school a couple years ago and she was *****ily telling this story at a grad party once ■■■■■. im just trying to say to keep on your guidance counselors side (sorry this is way off topic!!!)
