How to send an update to Harvard?

Hey guys, I was just wondering how I would go about sending an update to my application. It appears that Harvard receives updates in their "fileroom" at Harvard College Admissions § Contact Admissions: Freshman/File Room, but I've read on other threads that it can usually get to your file faster if faxed. I'd really appreciate any opinion on this! Thanks!

Paper spewing out of a fax machine piles up fast, so the fileroom must deal with faxes ASAP. Whereas, it could take days before they get to an email.

Either way, as March 1st is fast approaching, you should send an update today, as your file has probably already been read.

Wait, when is the deadline for up until when we can start sending updates?

hcar: I’m sure they don’t state the deadline. Frankly, they’ve sorted through the entire batch by now and first cuts have been made.

Final RD decisions come out on March 28th. That means that as of today (February 26th) regional admissions directors have already looked at everyone’s file and are now preparing to present “their picks” to the full Admissions Committee over the next 3 weeks. So the deadline for updates is ASAP!

that makes a lot of sense…Thank you!

Thanks everyone for the help.
Just sent an update via fax. Now I can finally say that I am officially done with all my college apps (have been actively waiting for this update to come for the past month so I can update the colleges). So now it’s just the waiting game :)
