Hey guys, I was just wondering how I would go about sending an update to my application. It seems that an update can be emailed to credentials@stanford.edu, be sent in an online "optional update form", or faxed, but I've read on other threads that it can usually get to your file faster if faxed. How should I go about doing this? I'd really appreciate any opinion on this! Thanks!

I want to know the answer as well, so bump.

Fax is best. Admissions officers responses to inquiries repeatedly indicated fax as their prefered method of getting updates.

Is the optional update form reliable?
[Optional Update Form : Stanford University](http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/extras/decision/optional_update/index.html)

And is it only for deferred students? What if I submit it as a RD applicant? Will they add the info I submitted to my application file?

Thanks everyone for the help.
Just sent an update via fax. Now I can finally say that I am officially done with all my college apps (have been actively waiting for this update to come for the past month so I can update the colleges). So now it’s just the waiting game :)

@lsx, no, RD applicants can send updates as well for new accomplishments

^Thankie

Yeah fax is best; I called maybe two weeks ago and they said at that time they were not reading any emails.

How about mail? Mine isn’t an update just my midyear grades…

@runnergurl
I believe midyear reports are to be sent in through CommonApp. Your counselor would have to do that (or you would have to tell your counselor to do it).

I’m looking at Stanford’s Optional Update Form - does anyone know where to find our Stanford ID number? I looked through the confirmation emails I received, but I couldn’t find it.

^just your commonapp ID will do
