How to send AP scores to UCF

I passed 2 of my AP exams (US History / English Comp) with 4's. Apparently these can count as credits, so does anyone know how / when do I send my AP scores to UCF? The college board website is confusing when it comes to AP scores

Some schools include AP scores in your transcripts, I know mine did. Also if you kept the actual paper scores Collegeboard mailed you, there’s a section you can tear off, fill out, and send to colleges. If you’re not sure about either ask your school guidance counselor how you should send them in next time you’re in school.

I also have an AP question.

If the orientation is in June and AP scores don’t come in until July, how do you register for classes?

@UCFstudent: You can have them sent with your APs this year for free if you put in on the Scantron. Otherwise, you need to contact collegeboard and have them sent. (UCF will NOT accept a score report you have opened.)

@Wisdom93: They will tell you to plan around it. You can update your schedule up until the first Thursday of classes (after which you can no longer drop). So if you take, say, AP US Government and are confident you passed it, don’t take it. If the class is a pre-req (i.e. You think you passed Calc 1 and want to take Calc II), you will have to wait until the scores come out so that you are eligible to enroll in the class.

Do 3’s count for anything or just 4’s and 5’s?

Any passing score will always give you credit for something at UCF. However, the usefulness of that something depends on what AP and what score.

For example, a 3 in American History gets credit for AMH 1000, which is useless. However, a 3 in AP Gov gets credit for POS 2041, which is a Gen. Ed.

You can reference the scores and credits here. http://www.catalog.sdes.ucf.edu/UCFUGRDCatalog1112.pdf

Thanks! So far I’ve gotten 3’s in APWH, AP English, APHG and a 4 in AP Euro. Hopefully I’ll do decently in APUSH, AP Bio, AP Psych, & AP English Lit

Do AP Scores trump the math placement exam? Meaning, if I somehow get placed in Pre-Calc, but I get a passing score in AP Calc AB, do I still need to take Pre-Calc, or can I do Calc II

Yes, but only if you pass. However, while a 3 or 4 on Calc AB will let you skip to Calc II, it’s highly unadvised if your major requires CalcII and higher math. Even with a 5, I’d be wary from going straight to Calc II. (It’s the 2nd most failed class at UCF.)

So I’d at least get Calc I instead of Pre-Calc?
And that begs the question, what’s the most failed class?

Yeah, you can choose any math class you have credit for or credit for the pre reqs for.

Calc II is the Engineering weedout class. Therefore, the most failed class is the Pre-Med weed out class, Organic Chemistry (not sure if it’s Orgo 1 or 2, but Organic in general is the killer for that branch of study).
