How to spend meal points?

Since I have less than a week in Berkeley and I have more than 550 points, where is a good place to use them fast?

feed friends, floormates, buy cereal etc from that unit 3 store

That’s $550 Ca$h that you have on-hand, what would you buy? I would trade with floormates like you buy me this (not available with points) for something with points. You’ll have the most fulfilling time spending this way.

I’ve seen people buy boxes and boxes of soda but it gets heavy and you never really drink it all. It’s silly they buy all that crud when you could trade. I would splurge on Bear Market food now and let the maximum roll over or perhaps the lunch stuff at GBC everyday.

just go to crossroads for every meal and buy some odwalla and coffee from peets. that’ll kill off a good 200 in a snap. Man I wish I had 550. Instead I’m stuck with a little over 100.

Buy Odwalla, and drink them frequently. These things go bad rather quickly. If you know of any food drives, you can use your points to buy them needed goods

swipe friends into winterfest T___T

is winterfest when they have fondues…hmmm

buy detergent, peets mugs, peets peppermint bark, instant food, instant cameras

any more suggestions?

Everyone pretty much listed out all the ways already. You have an excess of food points for a reason, if there were more ways to spend them then you wouldn’t be in this situation.

You could host a CC get-together dinner during Winterfest. :D

In one of the earlier threads, someone mentioned that the RSF sells yoga mats for meal points?
Anyone know if this is true/how much they cost?

It’s true. My friend bought one for a class…dunno how much it was.

just go to rsf and check. it’ll probably be a rip, but if you have the meal points (and I mean well above 200 or 300) then go for it because you don’t want to waste/throw away any meal points that don’t roll over. RSF also sells a few other things you can use other than just food iirc. Like I said though, the best way to kill meal points? Go to Peets or RSF or any of the markets. Guaranteed ripoff :D

Back when they had CalClub, I used to spend all my points on that.

Now that they don’t, I suggest that you do the following:

Eat only at campus restaurants and try to invite a friend every lunch or dinner. That can burn up approximately 100 meal points.

Stock up on the detergent. That 7th Generation stuff is excellent, and even though it’s overpriced in terms of meal points, if you have them, use them.

Bear Market has a lot of random useful stuff that can burn thru the meal points quickly. They include vitamins, plastic cups, etc.

If you have real trouble, as someone without meal points, I’m personally willing to buy them for $0.50/pt (half their supposed value).

wait there’s no more bulk buy anymore?

^ There’s no longer bulk buy. The old link to it says something about it being canceled due to ‘low demand’.

lammeee…i woulda done that and saved points in the beginning. will they have that again?

prolly not first of all. second of all, bulk buy was kind of pointless. you don’t save meal points or anything. it’s nearly the same as if you were to buy the item individually.
