<p>Hey guys I have a question when and how exactly does school start? Obviously I attend freshmen orientation in june and turn in various forms, but when does school really start? For example </p>

<p>according to that, move in day is the 23rd so if for example i was gone out of state on the 22nd would I miss out on something? Instruction doesnt start until the 27 so what do we do between 23-27?</p>

<p>move in is important of course. caltopia/welcome week events are all optional in which you decide what you want to do, good way to meet people and learn about berkeley, find where classes to go, etc. they will have a more updated calendar of events in august i believe on the welcome week website. <p>yeah, it’s more for entertainment and socializing
i remember getting loads of free stuff from caltopia
also, it can also be used as time for bonding with your floormates and stuff
but if you really can’t go then don’t worry about it, you have the whole year left to have fun
haha</p>
