How to stay positive during my last year

Hey everyone! My name is Daniel and I attend college in Texas, going to be a senior in the upcoming fall.

The last year has been pretty rough mostly since I’m a transfer student from a previous university and I found it harder to find a social life as a transfer.

I’m majoring in math, GPA is around 2.8, which concerns me since most actuarial jobs require a 3.0 or higher and the math courses I’ve been taking are as hard as hell.

My second option after graduating would be to join the navy as an officer, which sounds more realistic as they pay more attention to test scores than the GPA.

My major concern is my frustration with dating. I’m 22 and never had a gf before. I struggle with a mild form of autism which makes natural socializing very difficult. The way I’m trying to work on that is working out this summer A LOT. I found that women in the past used to show me interest when I wasn’t fat, but back then my social skills were much worse since I couldn’t tell whether they liked me or not.

Tl;dr I’m going through the stress of graduating and finding a gf. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

P.S I accidentally added an extra thread because of connection issues. i didn’t see the first post.

Congrats, at least you have a plan with your life after graduation, which is more than what at least a good chunk of seniors have from what I’ve seen in the media. Have you considered getting help for some of your classes in the fall? That’s probably the best way to bring it up to a 3.0. Now from a social standpoint, I have a lot of struggles as well such as friendships coming from a fellow Aspie. However, as far as wanting a girl goes, I’d recommend concentrating on your grades first. If your priority is to raise your GPA, then finding a girlfriend could be a big distraction. Don’t date because everyone else is. Just wait for true love, since you will know when that is coming and who it is.

I’m a rising college sophomore by the way.

Hi! I’m an incoming freshmen at WSU. I’m not sure if my advice would help much for your first problem about grades and graduation, but my suggestion is just study your butt off. If you can higher your goa you’ll have more options once you graduate. Are you considering going to graduate school too? As for the girlfriend thing, I suppose having a nice body will attract girls right off the bat. You should consider going to clubs or parties to meet more girls too. Honestly, as a girl, as long as the guy is not obesed but not skinner than me … I’ll like him. Girls like a guy that’s sure of himself has his life figured out. No one really likes a hot mess.
People like to be around people like them. It’s true. So try to find a girl that’s like you… One that has the same interest as you and one that likes you back.
