How to STOP college mail

As a recipient of waayyyy too much college mail (one of many such people, I'm sure), I'm curious to know - when does it stop? And is there anything I can do to stop it from coming (now that I've been accepted somewhere, it really is of no interest to me anymore)? So far I've been marking down every college email as spam, which has seemed to slow the flow of emails.
Does this go on forever? Does it stop at around April or May? Oh God PLEASE tell me it'll stop someday... :(

Send them all letters via email how you got accepted into the school of your choice and how they are wasting their paper / $ by sending you mail.

haha - i had the exact opposite question. i wanted to know how to START getting mail

lol u can make your letter overly arrogant and have fun with it...

Dear suchandsuch,

Please stop sending me mail, because your college sucks, and I'm not applying. Not even your application "fee-waiver" will persuade me. Neither is your 2 week admissions notice, nor is your lack of a required essay.

                            Sincerely,
                            crash_blair

The only way to stop the receipt of all that college mail...is to MOVE. It's all third class and it won't get forwarded to you. Sorry...but even if you don't go to a school or are already IN college, the mail doesn't stop. DS continued to receive mail from colleges until his soph year of COLLEGE. This year (thankfully) he has received none. Of course his HS senior sister is picking up the slack.

sending them an email saying that u don't want college mail anymore, or that you want them to take you off the mailing list will suffice. except for those weird colleges that don't actually send you mail - they spam you.. ur never going to get rid of those.

Firewalker, sounds like your description of Tulane

"Firewalker, sounds like your description of Tulane"

I actually applied to tulane to make them stop sending me that.

did you get in?

I just applied like a couple days ago, we'll see.

Oh, I don't want it to stop...when you get accepted to schools like Amherst, you enjoy recieving mail and then ripping it into confetti and throwing it into the garbage can.

I just recieved two applications from Yale ysterday, a fee waiver to Swarthmore, an acceptance lette to Arcadia, and ssome college literature from Case Western...CONFETTI FIESTA!!! :D I'm crazy, ain't I?

yes, you are. but you should apply to yale just to make them leave you alone

I take the return envelopes fill it up with advertisements and send it back to them. If it weighs enough, they get to pay extra postage!

^^^
Now that's harsh, I might try that one.

And Yargg, I'm ED, can't apply anywhere else, I'm done!

I was kidding creative... congrats though :)
