How to Strike Up Relationship with Coaches--

Hey All,
This is kind of a strange thread but I was kind of wondering if there was a certain way of going about contact athletic coaches to ask about scholarships, etc. that are involved with participation in the sport. I was told that if you want to be an intercollegiate athlete then it's important to contact the coaches and pretty much cozy-up, to be blunt. I just don't know how to go about doing that... i.e, what to say, how to say it....

If anyone has any ideas...that'd be awesome. Thanks!
Beth

Not much cozying up until after junior year in accordance to NCAA rules which you need to carefully peruse. You can initiate contact but don't expect much until you get closer to the time. You should start getting a sports resume and a file or box for films and other stuff you will need for when the time comes. Coaches have e-mail contact info for you to introduce yourself and start sending info so you are on their radar screen. Anytime you have a chance to visit a school, make sure you have contacted the coach in advance and scheduled a brief visit to touch base.
