So, I recently got some SAT books. They are the Official SAT Study Guide, Barron’s SAT, and the SAT Black Book. These are absolutely huge, and I have no idea how to go through them. Any tips or tricks for studying?
bump…
Well, just go through every question on the book and find your own method to solve those questions. If you’re bad at reading like me, then you should just keep practicing over and over again. (I’m an international undergraduate student, so I might not provide the best method)
Don’t even bother reading the Blue Book unless you don’t know what the SAT tests. The only useful info in it is the official practice tests (which you can find all 8 of them online). Read and work through the exercises in the Barron’s book. I have no experience with the Black Book but I assume it’d be the same as the Barron’s for practice and explanations.
The SAT is actually based on strategies that the authors use to try and deter you. Think of the SAT as a puzzle, and that will help you through the SAT. I’ve gone through a couple of SAT practice books, and for the first few test, just try to get as many right as possible. After some practice, you should start timing yourself, and actually grading the practice tests to see what area you are still lacking in. If it comes to it, go to a tutoring center for SAT which could help you immensely. Good luck!
