Is it ok to analyze the use of examples in the analysis essay?
I really have trouble coming up with things to analyze.

You should include concessions to show that you understand the complexities of the argument always.

SuperC-One way to organize your paper in the Rhetorical A paper is to use the shifts to dictate how you read it. When the tone (shown in the imagery, and diction) shifts talk about how that helps the author achieve his purpose. At the next shift explain how the new direction helped again. Remember that they usually put their thesis in the first paragraph (or it is given in the prompt), so just explain how the rest of the essay helps the author’s purpose.

for the analysis essay, what do you write in the conclusion?

The hardest part of the exam is definitely finishing on time. The MCs require slow, methodical reading and spending 2-3 minutes on some questions and you have limited time. So I’d bank as many points as possible as quickly as possible then go over the more difficult ones. Don’t just take the test chronologically.

chroni-for the ana essay…end with a statement that ties your analysis back to his purpose. You mainly have to answer two questions: What is his purpose? How does he get there? If you end with how these work together, you will have a tidy, organized essay.

thanks papa h

how many sources should you use in the synthesis essay?

@chroni

3 is a must, generally there are 3 sources that are for the argument and 3 that are against, so if you are for you are most likely to use those 3. However, you can use all 6 if you would like.

if you use only 3, does that mean your chances of getting a 9 are slim?

^ according to my teacher, no. What gets someone to a nine if “mastering the control of the English language” aka sound pretty while answering the prompt analytically.

Also, anyone know if there’s a lot about poetry? Like so we have to know about poetry fig. terms?

I have a question…
is this test accurate?!!?

If you took the AP course, you must know something about English. I have not paid one bit of attention in my APLAC class this year, and I have not learned anything in my class. On the mock exam, however, I got a 5. Cha-ching. Don’t stress. It’s like the literacy exam for above average kids.

(P.S. You don’t need a 9 on any of the essays to get a 5.)
