My 2 required recommendation letters have already been submitted to Rice through Naviance. I am confused on where the Other Recommender’s letter should be submitted, as Naviance does not allow more than 2 rec letters. Does the recommender email the letter straight to riceapps@rice.edu with my Rice ID?
I have the same problem
My daughter had an alumni that knew her very well snail mail a letter of recommendation to the admissions office that had her name and Rice ID. I’m sure email will work too. Everything will make it to your file eventually.
You enter their email and it sends them a link to fill out the rec in the Common App. It’s in the Recommenders and FERPA section of the supplement. Not sure if you can do it from Navaiance.
@blockobutter: Read the instructions on the admissions page for the university you are applying to and see what their instructions are for the submission of recommendations. Some will accept recs at the general admission office, some at a different address specifically for applications to the college or university, and some will accept them only through their email system. (Upon readiing through the Naviance and Common App information, it does not look as though the Naviance eDoc system allows for the submission of ‘Other Recommender’ forms.)
If you are going to have a recommender formally mail in a recommendation form (having found that information on the college admissions information page), be careful to adhere to any specific instructions on whether that form must include the headers and footers just as is on the invitation to complete recommendation requests which Naviance forwards.
Thank you all for replying! I have emailed riceapps@rice.edu and they said to tell the Other Recommender to email the letter directly to the aforementioned email with the student’s name, Rice ID and DOB included.
