How to submit SAT waiver during application process

I’ve already submitted my application for Rice. My counselor was not able to submit my SAT waiver because there was only a slot for NACAC waiver through her portal. I still need to send the waiver to waive the fee. I’ve emailed riceapps the pdf of the waiver, but I don’t know what format they want. There are literally no posts on this anywhere. Please help! Thank you.

Call the admissions office after January 1 and ask them. If all the other pieces of your application are there, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Thanks for replying! Yes, I’ve already called Rice’s admissions office before their winter break and they told me to send the SAT Waiver via email by PDF form. I literally sent them a picture of my light blue fee waiver and attached it to email and my Rice ID. The check mark in the Rice portal for Fee Waiver is still grey, that’s why I’m seeking help here. I don’t know if the picture in that format is what they want, and they can’t tell me if it isn’t what they want because they’re on break. Yes, everything else is in, but I’m thinking if I should just pay the $75 fee in case they have trouble with my emailed picture so that my work towards the application wouldn’t just go to waste. How do you feel about this?

If it is not a financial hardship and gives you peace of mind, you could put the fee on a credit card. If Rice grants the fee waiver, you might be able to get the credit charge refunded by Rice or contest the charge. If you sent them the PDF as they asked, you should be ok. I would call them after the break on 1/2 and see what they tell you to do.

Thank you so much for your input. And happy holidays!
