@JHS - certainly sounded like a very interesting class reunion. Don’t you think though, students of your class had the advantage of knowing/being around/learning from/sharing with students of that ability? And hopefully maintained that great network? Granted, this would be predicated on taking advantage of this network while in school and afterward.

The point being made is that those who are naturally inclined to network will benefit; those who don’t aren’t going to benefit from the network.
I read the article and heard Mr. Bruno on the Diane Rehm show, I have not read his book. My initial reaction is that he is oversimplifying the value of a rigorous education.I totally agree that your college does not define your potential but it can help you develop it.
Most of us here on CC realize that there are many colleges well suited to the high potential student not just the “Ivies.” On the other hand a student who procures an unchallenging education has missed an opportunity and may never reach their potential.
