How to tackle the 2 passage questions in the CR section??

How do you guys study for the CR section?
My Writing and Math scores are pretty good, but CR is always lowest for me.
I mainly have trouble with the sections with 2 passages in a row and it asks "The author of passage 2 would most likely characterize the initiatives of passage 1 as..." or "What best describes the relationship between the 2 passages?" and questions like that.
Is just constant practice test taking the only way to tackle it?
I've taken 2 real SATs and about 10 practice tests but still have trouble with it.
My goal for the October SAT is to get 700+ on the CR section.

Have you read silverturtle’s SAT guide in the SAT prep subforum? The basic idea is always the same - every answer has to be directly supported by the passage. The guide has a great example where passage 1 is on workplace humor and the question asks how the other author would respond, and the choices involve executive joke analysis, laughter, etc, but the right answer is “arguing that workplace humor…” (I forget the details). The point is that there are related choices, but each passage has a theme and discusses something specific, and the correct answer must be backed by the passage. All the wrong answers have something that isn’t supported by one of the passages.

More practice helps, but it must be in the right way. You should analyze the choices and understand why all the other options are wrong.

Devil’s advocate works best for me usually.
