<p>I don't think you can unless you have lojack. Anyway if you have the original sales receipt, the receipt should have the serial number for your laptop. Give that number to the police and the manufacturer. I think that's about the best you can do.</p>

<p>Unfortunately I do not think it's possible to track a laptop unless you have tracking software on it that is programmed to 'phone home'.
If it was a Dell computer or had Windows installed on it, I think you can contact them and if the computer connects to their sites they can find out (using the computer's MAC address which, hopefully, you have, based on your sales documents/receipts/etc).</p>
