I wasn’t sure which other forum to post this in, so feel free to redirect me…
Long story short: I’m attending a CC as a freshman due to financial costs, etc. By the end of first semester, I will have 38 credits (as a result of many AP courses and testing), more than enough to be considered a sophomore at a transfer institution. Problem is, I only have the money for one semester. I plan to take second semester off – Spring 2016 – to work full time from January to August and also complete some volunteer work. Bad idea? As for transferring, should I apply this fall? I want to be back to school for Fall 2016 semester, and my potential schools do accept sophomore transfers.
Just looking for a bit of guidance from those with experience. Thank you!!
Have you talked to the guidance office at your CC? They see students in your situation all the time and are apt to have the best information about transferring options/timing (and possibly an awareness of scholarships that might enable you to continue at CC before you run out of money.)
