How to walk to Black Beach?

Hi guys.

Do you guys know how to walk to Black Beach from Muir dorms?
I need specific walking directions lol.

Thanksss

go to google maps and follow the walking path up from the beach to the houses … it’s pretty easy to follow.

[Routes to Black’s Beach](<a href=“How to get to Blacks Beach - Google My Maps”>How to get to Blacks Beach - Google My Maps)
Pick the easy way.

go on la jolla shores drive, take the first right (LJ Farms), then just follow that road

walk across the street (torrey pines rd) from tioga hall, and find the entrance close to a fence/gate, and go through it. you’ll see a well-kept green lawn with a mormon church on the right if you walk down this path. upon getting to the road with the super nice expensive houses (some 50 meters from getting to that first entrance i was talking about), make a right and follow the road until you see a gated area on the left hand side. you’ll be able to climb right through (or hop, if you like). then walk alllllllll the way down. hope that’s specific enough.

have fun walking back up. >:]

-_____- i wonder why you want to go there XD
besides i heard its a bunch of naked old ppl X.X

Only the northern part is filled with old, naked men.

the surf is unmatched … in the UCSD vicinity, anyway. can’t be too picky if you don’t have a car.

wow, people surf right now? i mean sd is like 120 miles south of LA but the weather cant be THAT different … its freezing up here.

btw, for someone that has NEVER surfed before, how long does it take to learn? im athletic and a fast learner :stuck_out_tongue: lol and the gear is expensive too huh?

there are surfing rec class you can take through the rec department, they provide you with the surf board (pretty sure)

its like 60 degrees during the day and 50 later in teh afternoon, im here in SD

yeah, rec classes provide the board & it’s cheap. but they only teach you the basics and the monster foam boards that they have aren’t really representative of the ones you’ll probably end up buying. a few people in our class bought their own and just brought them to class, that way they had instructor input on their own boards.

as for $$$, look around on craigslist. and for surf conditions, check out surfline or surfshot.com

As for the weather right now… the right wetsuit makes a huge difference. My housemate was sweating the other day in her 4-3 (cold water wetsuit) and I was doing just fine in my 3-2 (cool/cold water wetsuit).
