How to withdraw acceptance

Hi,
I cannot attend to U Pitt for family and financial reasons, but I already deposited because I wasn't sure.
Can someone explain to me how to withdraw my acceptance? I looked for an admissions email but I cannot find one. Should I just call instead or should I send normal mail?

Or should I use this feature of the website: https://www.admissions.pitt.edu/contact.asp

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How about calling their financial aid office and explaining your situation? If there is any chance it would make a difference in their offer…unless you already have a much lower cost alternative lined up and you would be way out on a limb considering Pitt in the first place. I would still approach by calling financial aid, if your deposit was non refundable they may still have some options using professional judgement to refund all or part of the deposit, it doesn’t hurt to try.

You should call. First thing monday morning.

It doesn’t matter if they don’t refund the deposit, it wasn’t much anyways. I just don’t want to get in trouble and have acceptance in my other school rescinded because of “double deposit.”

But either way, thank you for your immediate responses.

I thought GT was going to cost more and aren’t you from WV? Seems Pitt would be closer to home for those personal reasons.

Call and say you’re withdrawing. The deposit you won’t get back (that’s what it’s for, really) but it’s pretty simple.
