How to write a personal statement?

<p>From Uni of Cincinnati's web site:</p>

<p>Personal Statement: Describe how your academic achievements, personal interests and life experiences have helped prepare you to succeed academically and to be an active member of the UC community. (Please limit your response to approximately 250 words.)</p>

<p>I'm not exactly sure what to write. Do I talk about how UC would be a good school for me, because it has X, Y, Z,etc? Or do I discuss my interests and life experiences and how they led me to this school? I'm a bit lost.</p>
