and bring tears to their eyes?

That probably shouldn’t be your goal…

you can make up a story, but thats probably not the answer ur looking for

To do that, you have to approach the topic of your essay with an uncommonly fresh intelligence and insight. You also have to pay attention to the metre of your sentences (how many syllables are in them). Some mediuim-length sentences, some short and others that are long, complex, and make ample use of vocabulary and correct punctuation.

By doing that last bit, you will be appesaling to the mind’s sense of rhythm and melody.

Hey Valour,

TBH I really don’t think an essay can bring tears to an adcom’s eyes unless it was the same essay that won you international recognition (or your essay would have to have better style than say, Edgar Allen Poe!). Remember that they’re reading like 500 essays a day, but to make yours stand out, you definitely need three things IMO: It must be creative, genuine, and very stylistic.

But don’t “force” those things out because the adcoms will know if you’re “faking” your essay (this goes hand in hand with your essay being genuine). Just write with your true voice and dont be afraid to bring it out. And if you add a mix of creativity in, your essay might just make the adcom read the essay a second time for the joy of it.
