How to write good FRQ/DBQs?

what are some key points to remember... i got the thesis part but from the online samples what i've noticed is they more like analasis of how things progressed than actual facts listed in order...
so i'm assuming studying cause and effects / progression of events is better than just memorizing treaties right? ...
i'm thinking i'm gonna take each era and just write the progression of political / social/ foreign/ economic.. i don't really know what else i should do to study for APUSH

my teacher said use sperm:
S: social
p: political
e:economic
r: religous? Maybe not, i forget)
M: military
and use these in your answer. She also said to pay a TON of attention to your thesis and your begining sentences in each paragraph, adding lots of details in each, because that's all the readers look at when they skim through your paper to grade it. I don't know if this is the best, but i got a 5.

lol, we use PERSIA
Political
Economic
Religious
Social
Intellectual
Arts

I'll tell my APUSH teacher about SPERM. That's pretty funny.

my teacher said five paragraph essay
thesis should be an although statement(shows the complexity of your argument)
political
Economic
Social
all the other ones you guys mentioned are pretty much inside all the three categories
