Does any have any advice on writing the essay upon the common app "additional info" short essay? the prompt reads "Please upload a document here if you wish to provide details of circumstances or qualifications not reflected in the application."

I understand it should not be written as an excuse for poor performance. That being said, what are some examples of things that should be written about here?

This is where you can list/write about any summer programs you have done on college campuses that did not grant college credit. I don’t think it’s supposed to be another creative “essay” - more factual information that wasn’t asked about somewhere else in the app.

Remember that submitting a document in this section is optional; you are not expected or required to upload a document in this section. However, if you have poor grades and want to provide an explanation, this is precisely where you would upload a statement.

On the other hand, it you want to showcase your talents in writing, you could upload a creative essay. If you want to submit a research report (just don’t make it too long!), you could do it in this section.

This “Additional Information” section is also the place where you would insert information that exceeded the space limits in other sections of the Common App.
