Should I write an essay or should I just write bullet points? I'm lost as to how to explain my situation without burdening the admissions officers with more words to read. I don't want them to get annoyed at me or anything.

You should use the best format for the information you are trying to present. Generally, this would not be an essay format. Bullet points aren’t allowed by the formatting restrictions, but short entries separated into paragraphs, possibly with headings in bold or underlined are a good option.

I have a relatively similar question. I am using the space to elaborate on my extracurriculars related to creative writing. Is it ok if I write it in an ‘essay narrative’ in order to explain my introduction to the interest in writing, a competition, and how I have developed since?

As niceday said, just format it into paras.
Make sure you demarcate them properly though…

Eg:
Football - …

Creative Writing - …

Oh alrighties. I will do that. Thanks!
