How to write UC Personal Insight Questions?

Hey CC,
I was just wondering how to approach these UC personal insight questions. Are there any taboos that I should avoid? Are there any topics you would recommend I write about? Please advise! Thanks!

Bump?!

I don’t think there are any “bad” topics- it just depends on how you write it. Make sure you make all essays really personal and unique (if your name was covered and your friend read it, would they know you wrote it?). Also, don’t tell them “I’m a great leader because…” but show them through description.

Thank you for your advice! @blu5959

My college counselor told me that the four essays should be puzzle pieces that, when pieced together, create the puzzle that is you. They should essentially demonstrate a holistic picture of the qualities that you would take to the university.

@photogeek8 Can I incorporate somewhat similar topics, basically what I want to major in, in different essay prompts?

@Aeron632 I can only tell you what I think, but as I’m a senior applying as well, take my advice with a grain of salt. I don’t see anything wrong with talking about similar topics in different essays as long as they address different aspects of the topics and highlight different qualities about yourself.
