I'm interested in AP Chemistry. I took chemistry this year and it was kind of tough but i passed with a 92. What will ap chem be like?

If you’re interested in AP Chemistry, then definitely take it. AP Chem is going to be more challenging than Pre-AP or regular chem, but it is also more rewarding. If you focus and work hard, it’s very, very manageable. AP Chem covers the same material in Pre-AP but at a much deeper level. It also introduces new topics like a little bit of organic and some quantum theories. You also wouldn’t need math beyond pre-calc.

Piece of cake! (;
Honestly though, I can’t comment on exactly how difficult it will be since the marks each school gives out are different and I can’t compare my school with yours, but with my own experience of AP Chem, the concepts aren’t very hard to understand. Check out the Collegeboard website if you want to gauge how easy/difficult it is.

Good luck!

If you took honors then you probably have a better chance…my school only has ap or cp chem and I got a B last semester in cp-maybe if I did my hw then I would have had an A but o well…if you take AP chem id say make sure you’re past alegbra 2

The AP Chemistry teacher at my school said that if you got a B or above in Chemistry I then you should be fine. AP Chemistry is math oriented, but it’s only Algebra II. AP Chemistry has concepts that’ll will get a little confusing at times, but practicing can really affect your performance. The AP Chemistry teacher says: “Chem-Is-Try” (Get it? lol) Chemistry is all about trial and error. Success in that class takes time, but It’s doable. I’m planning to take AP Chemistry too, and I’m in Honors Chemistry now and it’s really fun.
