How tough to get admitted into TAP

Hey trojans

I heard the pharmacy accepts continuing and transfer students (they started this new policy for transfers this year) to apply to the guaranteed admission pharmacy program. On the website it says a 3.2 cumulative GPA is required for admission. I talked to the pharmacy director (dona christianson) and she said that no continuing student has ever been denied to the TAP program w/ a 3.2 or above. Just to make sure that she is right, are there any current TAP students know that having a 3.2 GPA will guarantee admission to the TAP program or is it still based on a combination of GPA, recommendation, and essays?

I got in for my freshmen year, which is coming up. It's not that hard. I kinda winged everything 'cus I wasn't sure I wanted to go to USC or that they would accept me. But when I got in, I also got into TAP, so it was surprising

Yes. Once you are in the program a 3.2 GPA will guarantee you admission to the USC school of Pharm.

rdang

I know that once you are in the program w 3.2 GPA you are guaranteed a spot but you have to be admitted to TAP first. i wanted to know how hard is to get admitted to TAP.

it's quite hard to get admitted to the program in the first place. before you get admitted, you must be admitted into USC undergrad first

So if you are admitted to USC, then you will admitted to TAP as well

First you have to admitted by the University.
And once accepted, if you completed the TAP application, then you will be accepted into the program (not automatically of course but I haven't heard of people being rejected from the program).

I wouldn't say it's difficult to enter the TAP program (the difficulty kicks in with your course load) but they do consider your essays and recommendations. The main thing is that you show the determination to stay with the program throughout your undergraduate years.

Thanks for the info rdang, it will help me a lot.
