So basically I’m taking the triple at Upper campus because my schedule is pretty packed in the mornings (everyday 8:30 or 9) and I don’t want to wake up high school style at 7 to get ready (so no newton :()

If anyone has experienced a triple dorm, can you tell me how it is? Is it really unbearable? Are triples all on the same floor of the same building? I heard it was one single bed and one bunk bed and 2 closets. I also heard that triples are actually 3 people in a double…are there enough desks for us?

I’m going to go to school early for marching band (aug 24th) so since I get the dorm first (for a whole week too!) would it be “okay” or “reasonable” for me to take the single bed/closet?
How would you work something like this out? (i’m a guy btw so we probably don’t need as much closet space as girls do, but still!)

Thanks.!

Forced triples are not the end of the world. Forced Triples are basically 1 lofted bed with a desk underneath it, then 2 bunked beds and 2 desks across the room. There is a dresser for each person. The only thing that is a big problem (specifically for girls) is that there are only 2 closets, so you have less closet space. However, usually the person that gets less closet space gets the space under the bed to even things out.

You should definitely discuss everything with your roommates prior to your move-in on August 24th. If you take the single bed and an entire closet to yourself without discussing this with them then there might be problems. Personally, I would recommend taking the bunked bed on the bottom because being high in the loft or on the higher bunk bed gets old after a while. Also, if your forced triple isn’t already set up like this, I would recommend you set it up in the L-shape because I think it gives you more room. Not all forced triples are the same, and some are bigger than others so pray you get a decent sized one.

There’s forced triples and then natural triples.
LL covered forced triples, but I’ll fill you in about naturals…

I had one this past year and it was great. We each had our own closet space and a desk. There was a bathroom for all of us to share. I think we had a bunk originally but it was dismantled by the time I moved in.

If you’re actually in a natural triple, consider yourself one of the lucky ones. It’s a sweet gig.
