How true is Villa-no-fun?

i keep hearing the phrase villa-no-fun being tossed around every time I mention I’m considering going to Villanova. How true is this stereotype? If it’s not true or maybe partially true can anyone give some insight as to what social life is like at Villanova?

The only truth to this as far as I know is that fake IDs are scrutinized more than most schools and Greek life is only participated in by about 25% of the student body and the greek life houses are off campus. That’s really all the merit it has.

I’ve heard from my friend whose son is at Nova that a lot of students live nearby (within a hour or so) & many go home for the weekends, so campus is kind of empty. Her son (from Calif) ends up going home with friends a lot.

There is definitely a party scene. Without a doubt. Villa-no-fun could not be more of a myth here. Greek life is more prevalent than advertised and there is ALWAYS something to do on campus. In my experience, I have yet to meet someone who goes home every weekend
