<p>How exactly do UC’s review applications?</p>
<p>ive heard that they sometimes dont look at some applications. is this true?
ive also heard that they sometimes dont read the essays. is this true too!?!?.</p>
<p>at ucla and ucb, they read each essay at least twice, for some of the other schools, if you have the grades & scores, they automatically admit you.</p>
<p>The UCs don't look at applications where the applicant's unweighted GPA is below the lower threshhold of 2.80 (soon to be 3.00).</p>
<p>The only time UC's won't look at the app is if you don't hit their sliding scale of GPA vs. SAT score, which is the bare minimum requirement. They do look at your application and colleges weight differently. I dont know much about the UC's other than the top 3, but UCSD weights the stats heavily. They do read the essays, but they don't look at the overall "you" like berkeley and LA. UC Berkeley and UCLA do a thorough review of your application.</p>
<p>Hi, not to steal your thread... but does anyone know how that GPA vs. SAT scale thing works? I don't really understand it... i have a 4.33 weighted GPA so what SATscore would i need then to get into UCSD</p>

<p>Keep in mind GPA is only based on 10th and 11th grade classes, and there are limits to the number of courses that can be weighted.</p>
