I've heard that the girls and guys at rice arent that goodlooking. is this true? if it is, how ugly is ugly at rice? and ive been looking at some pictures on the rice website of undergrads, and they look pretty weird. is it just me? do people at rice care about their appearance? or are they just really nerdy and wear blah clothes? sorry to sound superficial but its just out of curiosity

I took a tour and saw the pic of the class presidents, or something like that, and the girls were sooooo ugly. I almost vomited. I mean, I'm sure they have lovely personalities.

...how ugly are you?

wow. I was just trying to bring some entertainment to this discussion, but I guess you didn't see that I was joking. If you are looking for attractive girls, then apply to Vanderbilt. Can u expect swimsuit models from a school that specializes in the sciences?

...haha, I was expecting you and others to respond, as ugly as me...haha!

no way, i'm hot, WHATEVA

lolzzz.....

um, i dont think ppl are that ugly @ rice...i mean, im pretty. jk/lolz.

look at it this way.. it doesn't matter the average appearance of the students that go to a university. What matterse is how hot/ugly YOU are.

For instance, if you're ugly it doesn't matter if you go to a school where half the students are swimsuit models, you are not gonna hook up with any of them.

Conversely, if you are good-looking and go to a school full of not-so-hot ppl, not only will ppl be fighting to go out with you by kissing ass, gifts, money, etc, but you'll have the pick of the litter. Surely, there must be at least a handful of hot ppl at each school.

Otherwise, if an your ugly girl get implants hehe. Trust me, speaking from a guy's perspective, its a GREAT idea. ;)

It is almost hard to take a question like this seriously, but I'll give it go.

If the thing that worries you must about college is hot girls/guys, um yeah, we don't want you here anyway.

But as Rice has a small population and is a very selective school, it has fewer attractive people than your standard college. I would say that is fair. As a guy, I don't think the girls are are especially ugly here by any means.

dear amazingspiderman:

i agree completely with what you are saying. preach that gospel, brotha! lol

This stereotype is a little bit true, I must admit. But there are 3,000 undergrads. You know there has to be a sizeable number of attractive people.

If the thing that worries you must about college is hot girls/guys, um yeah, we don't want you here anyway.

i never said thats my number one priority so dimnar you need to chill out.

amazingspiderman -- good point lol

whatever, plenty of hotties in austin... plus there are always hookers and strippers

rice is in houston..fyi

yea reeze. you kinda stumbled with that one. University of Texas is in Austin, but it has enough 'hotties' to not have to worry about the rest of the city. As far as Rice goes- Houston has plenty of attractive people outside of Rice. I mean, it's the 4th largest city in the U.S, it's a guarantee.

However, there is a slightly upsetting point. Houston regularly wins the award for "fattest city" or "most unfit city" in the U.S., and if it doesn't win, it definitely comes in the top 3 EVERY single year- so definitely expect PLENTY of fat people as well- some magazines say up to 70% of houstonians are overweight- yikes! take it easy on that southern fried food.

Sorry jenn, I actually didn't intend at all for that to be a direct comment to you. I was just speaking in general. I completely understand that it came off that way, I just wrote it quickly and didn't realize how it was going to be interpeted.

Jamie Story was Miss Texas a couple of years ago and was in the top ten for Miss America. Sid Rich, '03. Powderpuff, too. =)

Man, it doesn't matter how attractive they all be anyway.

Seeing as how everyone else is being so brutally honest- you probably actually WANT people to be unattractive. Unattractive means a plus for you, assuming that you're half-decent looking. Its the same theory of college apps, you don't want to compete with upper tier, you want to compete with lower tier. It makes you look better. Face it, ugly people make you look better, whether it be at a party, or in the classroom, since most people tend to be prejudiced against unattractiveness anyway.

So even if you turn out to be just OK looking, if you come to an unattractive campus, you're king (or queen). Its a matter of which would you like better.. oogling at hot people who will never give you the time of day (if you're hot, you ain't gonna be puttin' out easily), or be oogled at and have your pick of the hottest people on campus. Your choice.

However, with that said, most of the hottest people are the crappiest when it comes to personality. Hot people think they can skid through life of their looks, which makes for boring, stupid, idiotic blondies for a majority of the time. Which may be alright for the guys who are just looking for some eye candy, but its entirely ridiculous for the girls who have to live with these stereotypes.

And for these guys who suggest implants.. if the girls suggested pen!l implants, don't you think you'd be offended? I'm extremely disgusted by the suggestion that girls aren't worth more than breast implants- and don't worm out of this by saying, "I was just joking". Its not funny. Think about what you say next time.

Don't worry, I wasn't joking. I take surgical procedures very seriously. :D
