Does anyone care to describe their day? Was it informative? Did it help you make a decision? Was it worth attending? What else?

badly organized

if it werent for my over night stay over in the dorm, i wouldnt have been too impressed w/ duke

i agree that it was pretty badly organized. they had like 10 things going on at the same time and sent you off to find everything on your own. it was hard to get places on time and do everything you wanted to do. BUT it was very informative and gave me a chance to really see what the campus is like. so yes, it was worth attending.

it was ok

the public policy thing was BOOOOOORRRRRRINNNNNGG

in other words a real snoozer

i wonder if the blue devil day is representative of how kids at duke are treated in general by the administration- impersonal and vague?

on the other hand WashU's visit was BRILLIANTLY planned and everyone was very friendly...

hmmm....

current duke students- is the administration impersonal? ever felt like a number?

I am sorry that some of you thought it was disorganized. Our s loved his BDD experience, and so did we love being there. Didn't think it was disorganized--just a very full schedule so as to prevent it being a 2-day event! It was especially busy if you were there on a Pratt day, since there were programs geared toward learning more about that. The hard part was deciding what to see, and what to eliminate. Our s chose to eliminate going to a class. He assumed that since he had already decided on Duke, going to a class wouldn't be any more helpful. Also, being in one class as they are nearing the end of the semester would be a difficult thing to judge from the perspective of "degree of difficulty".

We also had to eliminate the dorm tour, but went all over the East campus on our own, and thought that was great. If you've seen one dorm room, you've seen them all--and s was not bothered by it in the least. We know that there would have been plenty of kids who would have let us in to see their room, but it was not necessary.

We found everyone to be extremely friendly, helpful and eager to direct us to a building, or answer a question.

Compared to other "admitted" student days we thought it was equal.

I'm in Durham right now, I thought it was great

it was too bad that I couldn't make everything
