How was your interview?

I had my interview today, and it went actually pretty well. I dressed up in a nice button up, khakis, dress shoes, and a tie. I brought a resume and a bunch of other stuff that would show off my personality. He started off by asking my academic records, and luckily, I was prepared and brought my resume (always bring one even if they don't ask for it). Everything started snowballing, and I was able to basically sell myself out. Everything that I wanted to say was said. He wrote a lot of stuff down and was pretty chill. He also had a pretty good sense of humor. Everything went well :) How about you guys? Any similar experience?

Supposed to be 30-45 minutes long, mine lasted 1 hr 20 minutes

Questions he asked:
1. Why Harvard?
2. What does your name tell me of your personality?
3. Tell me about yourself.
4. Academics?
5. Do you have any questions for me?
6. What other colleges are you applying to?

My interviewer was super nice. Never would’ve expected him to be the president of my areas harvard club. Happened to have my same intended major and basically same life plan.

He first bought me a Starbucks drink (insisted) and then we got to it. I had already filled out a pre interview sheet, so he asked what my most important EC was. About 30 minutes was a discussion about just that. Took notes throughout, but was really involved and warm. It lasted an hour total.

Afterwards, he said the usual “you seem like a perfect fit. i think Harvard would really gain a lot by having you as a student. I’ll write you the best possible report. I really hope you get in.” Though I’m pretty sure everyone is told that. Then he actually came to meet my mom in the parking lot, and told her again how “fantastic” I am and that he’ll write the best possible report.

It was just a really fun experience! The time flew by. To anyone stressing about interviews, don’t.
