Looking forward to hearing from those who attended!
My DS just came back and he’s in love with W&L! There were some travel related issues thanks to the horrible airline company (I don’t want to name it but it starts with US) and it was a really stressful situation, at least for me as a parent, but W&L handled the situation in such a way that I can only say that it was truly amazing! My DS and our family is very impressed with the whole experience. The competition itself was really great, I believe my DS made some very good friends there. We are crossing our fingers and wishing the rest of the finalists good luck!
Glad he made it home, @coolmom3! We finally gave up on the Roanoke airport and fly D out of Charlottesville or Richmond. Wish we lived somewhere where she could just take the train home (she’s taken it from Charlottesville to NYC)! Fingers crossed for your son.
Thank you so much for your kind words, @yaupon! The trip back home was great but the route is not the most convenient. Unfortunately, there’s no direct flights to any airports that are close to Lexington from our airport and there’s no trains either :-S but the benefits of going to W&L outweighs all this inconvenience!
Glad to hear that your son had a great experience. My daughter is a Johnson and was one of the interviewers. She mentioned to me that there were a number of strong canidates.
The Johnson Scholorship is a wonderful thing! Good luck.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask away.
@BBDark, thanks a lot, my DS told me that all current and future Johnsons were absolutely amazing! He would be thrilled to live among such interesting and friendly people.
