How was your social life when you transferred colleges?

My first two years of college, I went to a commuter type of school. My social life there was sort of meh, but as I moved on it kind of picked up.

Well, then I applied as a transfer to some universities and the one I ended up applying to and going to was a Division 1A SEC school. When I did get in I found out that it was a top 5 party school according to some sources.

I finished my spring semester here (as a Chemistry major and History minor) and quite honestly my social life has been trash. Eating alone at dining halls, going out alone to bars, etc. Overall I am an outgoing person but my social life just did not pick up. Maybe because I was busy and trying to adjust to living out on my own for the first time.

I did make friends but it was mainly with freshman students and sophomore. Did make SOME friends who were upperclassmen.

Fall means that there is more things to do.

My biggest issue is that I might end up having more freshman friends and not having any fellow seniors or juniors as my friends. Social life has not been as great.

Go join clubs/organizations and possibly rush?

can’t rush, frats do not really take upperclassmen at my school

too old to join a frat

man that feeling hurts

Well, my situation is a little different. When I first started college in 2009, I was basically forced to go to school via online only because I had to work during the day and overseas we weren’t allowed to drive since taking the test would be so hard. My mom worked for the federal government so I lived overseas. Most of the people I went to high school with were able to go off to college straight after graduation, while I had to stay behind and stay overseas (which I didn’t want to do at all). Also during my last 2 months during my senior year I had to move to Germany made things a little more difficult. In 2010 I moved back to the US, but because I didn’t have enough credits I had to attend commuity college. At my CC people weren’t as friendly as I thought they would be so of course I didn’t really meet anyone. In the fall, I’m hoping I can transfer to California State University, Northridge (still waiting on their final decision) and hopefully my social life will be ALOT better.
