How well known is JMU engineering.

I'm a freshman at JMU in the engineering program, but as most people know Tech is known for engineering way better than JMU. I was wait listed last year, and ended up getting rejected. I have concerns about three options, 1. Finish Engineering at JMU and go in to MBA program for graduate school. 2.Tranfer to V-tech, and persue my engineering degree in aerospace and go to masters degree in engineering. 3. Go in to accounting major which JMU is known for in College of Business. The only problem with JMU engineering is that there is no aerospace engineering which is what I really want to do and they only have just engineering degree. Some people are saying having engineering background with MBA will help alot getting jobs, and some are telling me that just go all the way with engineering. What do you guys suggest I should do? I want to fix airplanes for my career at airports LOL, accounting is my back up major.

Hi wj, I just replied to your post on the VT board. I have been helping my son look at Engineering options. You should probably talk to your Engineering professors and maybe the general counselors there at JMU, but if you have your mind set on an Engineering discipline that they don’t have there at JMU, you may want to consider transferring to a school that has aerospace engineering. My understanding is that the JMU program focuses on sustainability, so if that is not your area of interest, you may be in the wrong school!
