I visited Princeton during the summer and fell in love with it... it was so perfect!

i visited and i think it is definetly the most beautiful campus that i have ever seen. but im still really hesitant about going there even if i was lucky enough to get accepted just because of all the bad stuff ive heard about how preppy it is and im not too fond of the idea of eating clubs

liloldme - shame. I was worried about the uberconservative image - but my visit soon cleared that up for me. I found, ironically, that the people at Princeton (at least the ones I met) were more open, intellectual, friendly, exciting...than the Yalers (who, by contrast seemed quite arrogant and often bland). Yet I was expecting the opposite! Eating clubs are part of the experience - that's how I think of them. You should read up the comments on these threads from those who actually are at Princeton, they all say that Princeton is not as conservative as people think. It's amazing how overrated the preppy-exclusive image is.

The only thing I can say about the people who want to go to Princeton b/c of a television influence is "oh, Dio' mio!" I read their recruitment letters--which seemed a little less dumb than the other letters abscure universities were stuffing into my mailbox. I researched further and e-mailed current students from my school. I made the decision to apply to Princeton by myself--not b/c russell crowe told me or the fact that judge amy gray is hot.

ZZ3

P.S. I realize that judge gray was a grad from harvard...

so...shame on you miss gianievve :)

haha, I love this guy....he hops on the board about 1x every 4 or 5 days, bumps his chances thread, and says something slightly insulting. Props to Senior Valdez :) we need our little dose of regularity.

Cheers raises glass

wtf, more like our dose of insanity...
Valdez- when did I say a tv character influenced my decision to apply to princeton? I think you have the wrong person here, talk to phil. All i said was i first heard the name on the Fresh Prince.

how about "our regular dose of insanity" =) I think Phil had other reasons, too. But what's wrong with that anyway? I bet there are quite a few guys who finally decided on NYU b/c of the Olsen twins, lol....

yeah, i went through an "addicted to NYU" phase - but that was way before the olsens came into the picture.

Hey, which celebrities do you think will be in our year, if any?

Princeton doesn't seem to have many of the Hollywood types...but there are quite a few children of congressmen/women attending (I know John Edwards's daughter does).

Yeah, just for clarity's sake: I first heard the name on The Cosby Show and Gianievve first (or at least one of the first times she did) heard the name on Fresh Prince. And I kind of like that Princeton doesn't attract the celebrity types. The people are incredible in their own right and not from name recognition. I think that's awesome.

 I agree Phil

fresh prince for me.

Yeah Neobez - join the club!
Did you apply ED?

Nope. It is my first choice, but a.) Can't be sure about financial aid if I am binded. b.) Didn't take the SAT 2's until November. and c.) didn't decide to apply until late october.

what about you gianievve?

Edwards' daughter has graduated.
Bush's neice is a junior here.

Rumsfeld is class of '54, Nader '55. Nader came here a month ago and was well received. I'm pretty sure that won't happen with Rumsfeld.

oh! burned.......

I'm just a freshman and I have only been there for 3 months but I wish I could stop time and stay there forever. I love my family very much, but leaving is such a disappointment and returning is so much fun. Even if that means for exams. Euw. GO STUDY

ooo politicians. I LOVE politics. I was rooting for kerry/edwards and Nadar rocks this earth.

A campagin slogan for kerry/edwards: Don't be a square, vote for John Squared!
