How/When is the soonest I can change my major?

Where do I go? Who do I talk to?
I want to do it as soon as possible

I think you can do it at orientation, although there are some majors that you can't transfer into.

as long as it's not an impacted major you can pretty much do it anytime.

yea i think once you turn in your SIR you can change it...because i remember at orientation they had on record the major that i put down when i applied, and the major that i intended to change to. it may not be completely "official" though until school starts.

impacted majors are only the bioengineering and computer sciences stuff right?

if we want to change into the impacted majors, how can we do so?

You cannot change into an impacted major. If you could, they wouldn't be impacted. In case you weren't aware, impacted majors are those that have restricted enrollment. You had to state the specific impacted major you wanted to be on your college app, and if the department wanted you you would be admitted into the program. If not, you lost your chance. Impacted majors include:

Bioengineering
Bioengineering: Biotechnology
Computer Engineering (within the Computer Science and Engineering Department)
Computer Engineering (within the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department)
Computer Science

If you want a degree in those fields, you can get a comp sci degree in the math department, or you could be Bioengineering:Premed or Bioengineering:Bioinformatics. Otherwise, tough luck. But who knows, maybe someone could fight hard enough to get into an impacted major...

i think you can change it anytime. also i don't think it maters how soon you change it since you don't need to pick a major until after you're done with your GEs anyway.

I'm thinking about changing my major but I'm gonna try to take some classes, see how much I enjoy it and stuff.

just wanted to clarify, the impacted majors are ONLY those five that were listed by Beware0fNerd right?
