How will 2 vaping related charges freshaman year of highschool affect my college applications?

I got caught vaping and got one day of in school suspension, and get caught with one on me resulting in 3 days of out of school suspension. Will colleges not accept me over this? I completed a student assistance program, wrote an apology letter to the school, and joined multiple community service and extra activities. If I can show I recovered from those stupid mistakes I made as a freshman do you think colleges will see that as a learning experience or a deal breaker for college acceptance?

Have you received treatment for nicotine addiction? I’m assuming you weren’t vaping on school grounds just to break the rules.

yea, that’s what the sap program did for me. It was stupid, pretty much just trying to fit in and be cool, but the student assistance program resolved that. do you think colleges will think its a turn around though? I have changed as a person and learned from it now as a junior.

Good! Yes, this counts as an “overcoming adversity” story. Just make sure to avoid a relapse and work extra hard on your classes and ECs and you should be fine.

Thankyou!! I was just worrying about this as I am graduating next year. Luckily the colleges I am looking at have pretty high acceptance rates.

It probably won’t affect your chances. Colleges would be more concerned if you hurt others - they don’t need that liability. Stay squeaky clean the rest of high school and you should be okay.

Thanks! I plan on doing so and have been on top or things since freshman year.

You’re fine.
