I'm an Economics major with a 3.92, but I feel that my W's will weigh me down. Anyone have any experience with excessive amounts of W's?

I think you have to have at least 20 withdrawals before any of the UCs start to think it may be an excessive amount.

I had 6 W’s and was accepted to Davis, SB, and Santa Cruz as an Econ major.

It depends on why you have so many W’s. If you have a legitimate reason that you can explain in your application (health issues, death in the family, etc.) then it shouldn’t be an issue. I had 6 W’s on my transcript, but I was able to explain it in my application and I was accepted to Cal, UCLA, UCSD, and UCSB (all of the schools I applied to).

If you can’t provide an explanation it may impact your at UCLA because Economics is such an impacted major, but for Cal it shouldn’t matter.

as long as its not a constant trend and you talk about them in your addiional information on your UC app.
I had 4 and had a lower gpa than you but I got into UCB, UCLA, UCSD, and UCD.
My major is MCB

Isnt econ at Cal impacted too?

I had 9 W’s and was accepted to UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, and UC Riverside.
