i applied to the college of arts and sciences as my top choice and business as my back up. does it not matter which, either way i have a fantastic shot?
also, i was not able to fill all the prerequisites they ask for.
arts and sciences: freshman english I, II, Math (college algebra or higher), natural science, social science and diversity. i took one english class, two maths, no natural science, a good amount of social science and i’m not sure about diversity.
business administration school: freshman english I(done), II, intro to business (done), calculus at college level, macroeconomics (in process), microeconomics (in process), financial accounting, managerial accounting, natural science, social science (done), humanities (in process).
will all this result in a rejection??

according to the website they are “preferred”, and I did see a distinction between “preferred” and “required”…thus, they are not required. you are just a freshman, right?

you still have a pretty good chance, imo.

yep, i’m a freshman. if it turns out i do not like the college of arts and sciences, do you think id be able to switch over to the business school? i’m an economics major and i’m currently taking macroeconomics, microeconomics, and political economics. economics is in the college of arts and sciences. if i find that i like a my business classes more there (assuming i get in and go there) than would i be able to switch over easily?

thanks for the insight

Also, I applied to Elon University and got deferred. That could be because my SATs sucked and they required them, Northeastern did not. As a result of my deferment, would you say I have a good shot there assuming my grades stay the same? I just have to send in my official spring grades at the end of the semester.

You still have a fantastic shot, one C will not completely ruin your chances.

Nerf, which college are you referring to?

anybody else applying to northeastern? did they mess up your transcript by photocopying it? if they got your mid-term grades, did they categorize it as miscellaneous?

bump…

alipes, you sound like a deusch, are you trying to make yourself feel smarter by saying someones college is rivaled to a community college? It just makes you look stupid.

In reguards to the question of the OP, one C will not hurt you, if you have a 3.6 gpa and just get one C you will not have any problems at all being accepted, adcoms have hearts too and realize sometimes people get a low grade here and there.

Think there is any chance I get scholarship?
Undeadpaladin, said his friend with lesser GPA did.
Northeastern isn’t cheap so it would help if I could get some money from them.

I wouldn’t expect a full-ride but if you have a 3.6-3.7 gpa i’m pretty sure you will be getting some scholarship money, and since they are private I’m pretty sure you will be able to get a financial aid package (depending on your EFC of course) mine was around 17k and UMiami offered me a package.. although I haven’t seen it yet.. so who knows it might suck ;)

I’d be stunned if I got a full-ride. I won’t get that by any means. I’ll be happy with anything.
